Maintenance manual MOTOMAN XRC Page: 96 Memory expansion MOTOMAN ROBOTICS EUROPE Created: 99-03-25   Revised: 00-11-13 6.18  Memory expansion To mount the CMOS expansion board (XMM01) to the XRC in use, follow the pro-
cedure below. Note! The CMOS batch file (CMOS.HEX) and the user memory batch file (JOB.HEX)
saved in the standard system cannot be loaded for use in a system where the
XMM01 board is mounted to expand the memory.
All CMOS data other than parameters must be saved in individual files. Save the
parameters in the all-parameter batch file. a)   Save the system CMOS on an external unit, using FDDWIN32, FC2 or PC- Card. b)  Start up in “Maintenance mode”.
c)   Save all the CMOS data onto an extra PC-Card (as an extra safety measure- ment). d)  Confirm the set status (language, control group and application) in {SETUP} under {SYSTEM} and note it down. (Confirm it in the “Editing mode”). e)   Turn Power OFF.
f)    Mount the XMM01 board onto the XCP01 board (in the CPU-unit).
g)  Start up the system in “Maintenance mode”.
h)  Execute “Initialize”, see separate chapter. Confirm the memory capacity in the CMOS memory display. i)    Load the CMOS data back into the system using FDDWIN32 och FC2.
j)    Turn power OFF and ON again to return to normal operation. Memory expansion completed.
