Maintenance manual MOTOMAN XRC Page: 42 Earth connection MOTOMAN ROBOTICS EUROPE Created: 99-03-25 Revised: 00-11-09 3.10 Earth connection Make earth installation, follow steps below carefully: XRC-cabinet, min 10 mm² earth cable shall be connected to the cabinet. The resistance shall not exceed 100 ohm. Robot, min 6 mm² earth cable. Connect directly to the robot earth screw, on the foot or base frame. The robot earth connection shall not be used for welding
equipments or options. Positioner, connect the negative pole from the power source to the positioner, as close as possible to the fixtures or at the special terminal. This to avoid injuries on
bearings. Option, Connect safety guardings, cable ladders, etc. according to current rules, to protective earth. Welding equipment, A separate wire must be used. It is not allowed to use the robot grounding as a return for welding current. 3.11 Power consumption Values below are only valid for singel robot. If servopack for external axes, are fed
